dancing on the enemy’s grave

When they learned of the killing of Osama bin Laden, young Americans danced in the streets, sparking an international debate about whether it is ethical to celebrate the death of an enemy. What do the world’s religious traditions teach us about relationships between enemies? When can we kill with a clear conscience? In this class we will draw on religious and spiritual teachings, just war theory, and contemporary media commentators to spark a frank and open conversation on this challenging topic.

Three Mondays, Sep. 26th – Oct. 10th, 2011, 6-8 PM at HBAC in Eureka, CA.
